Fonterra and Mead Johnson to Zuidas Amsterdam

Fonterra, one of the largest exporters of dairy products in the world, moved its European headquarters from Germany to Zuidas Amsterdam. Fonterra plans to expand sales in Europe now that Amsterdam is their new base of operation. Key factors in the decision to move to the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area included a favourable business climate, high quality senior staff and proximity to potential partners and customers.
Amsterdam was selected over London, Paris and Zurich because of lower costs for labour and accommodation. Fonterra opens its new office in Amsterdam South late September 2010.

Moreover, Mead Johnson Nutrition, an American producer of food for infants and children, officially opened their European head office in Amsterdam on 1 July 2010. The company had investigated various other locations in Europe, but decided for Amsterdam.
Mead Johnson considers Amsterdam to be the perfect location for their European headquarters. "Amsterdam has a number of important advantages, such as an excellent infrastructure, qualified and talented personnel, and a competitive financial structure. Amsterdam is a perfect location for our company’s activities," says Catherine Fitzsimons, Vice President and Mead Johnson‘s General Manager for Europe. "We are very happy with the support and input of the municipality of Amsterdam and with the local economy."
Ambassador Hartog Levin praised Amsterdam as the prime location for American companies to locate, because of its accessibility. Mead Johnson’s new office is located in the World Trade Center in Amsterdam’s Zuidas and offers employment to 30 people.
