Amsterdam Airport Schiphol: Best Airport in Western Europe

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has celebrated the news that it has been named the "Best Airport Western Europe" by Skytrax - the award based on the votes of more than 9.8 million travellers from over 100 different countries.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport remained in the top 10 for the overall airport survey moving up one place to 7th this year, ranking 3rd position in Europe.

Announced at The Skytrax World Airport Awards ceremony, held at the Passenger Terminal Expo 2010 in Brussels, Belgium, Skytrax World Airport Awards are the industry’s most extensive air traveller-based awards, with the survey of airport customers conducted between July 2009 and March 2010.

Edward Plaisted, Chairman of Skytrax said: "Amsterdam Schiphol Airport has maintained a very strong global ranking during the years of the World Airport Survey, and I congratulate them on achieving this Best Airport Western Europe title in 2010."
