Fashion will be in fashion for a long time…

Dutch Fashion
These days Dutch Fashion is exported throughout the entire world with continuing success. Viktor & Rolf, Marlies Dekkers and Rodrigo Otazu, for example, are well known international names. Furthermore, there are strong Dutch Fashion labels which have been active internationally for many years, such as Mexx, G-Star and Gsus.

Creative City Amsterdam
Amsterdam and the surrounding area burst with creativity. The Amsterdam Area accounts for 25% of those working in the creative sector in the Netherlands, with more than 8,250 Dutch and international companies employing a total of 55,000 people. This huge pool of talent is active in an array of creative disciplines, including the fine and performing arts, media & entertainment, fashion, publishing, architecture and graphic design.

Creative minds
Amsterdam continues to attract large numbers of well-trained creative minds in all disciplines. What attracts them is Amsterdam's tolerance, outward-looking mentality, inspiring atmosphere and pleasant, efficient business environment. Furthermore, Amsterdam has a tradition of free thought and a growing design scene. All this goes to make Amsterdam a truly Creative City with an open mind for new ideas and hospitable to people and organizations from other countries and cultures.

Serious business
Fashion stands for serious business. The number of new national and international enterprises in Fashion and creative business services setting up business in the Amsterdam region is growing. Amsterdam, together with its region, is establishing itself firmly on the international map as a trend-setting and emerging European fashion city. At the same time the volume of clothing and other fashion articles passing through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol as air cargo is growing. Clearly the city of Amsterdam and the extensive network of Mainport Schiphol complement and enhance each other well.

A young dynamic alternative
Where Paris and Milan represent the traditional couture industry, Amsterdam offers a younger, more dynamic alternative. There is plenty of room for new ideas and fresh thinking. An example is the growing New Luxury segment. This is a new market segment that bridges the top of the premium mainstream and traditional luxury/couture.

What does Amsterdam Airport Area offer Fashion & Design companies?
