Aerospace

Amsterdam Airport Area; hub for European aerospace
Amsterdam Airport Area offers ideal solutions for aerospace companies looking to establish a European presence for office functions, spare parts, warehousing, logistics, MRO centres and education and training facilities. Due to its long tradition in aerospace (KLM, Fokker and others), the Netherlands has all the necessary know-how, infrastructure, education, research, test systems and design expertise firmly in place. The industry currently has an annual turnover of € 11 billion and provides 55,000 jobs in the Netherlands, most of which are in AAA. From Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, daily direct flights connect AAA to leading aerospace regions in North America and Europe, including Montreal, Seattle, the US Midwest, Toulouse, Bristol and Hamburg.

European logistics hub
Over 200 international companies provide efficient and professional logistics services in AAA. KLM Cargo and some of the logistics service providers have specialized aerospace divisions and therefore offer ideal opportunities to outsource your logistics needs.

MRO Hub
More than thirty companies operate in the Dutch Maintenance & Repair Overhaul (MRO) sector of which KLM Engineering & Maintenance is the largest with a workforce of 5,500 employees. Stork Aerospace is another major Dutch company in the MRO market. In view of the anticipated growth in the number of aircraft and the trend towards more outsourcing of aircraft maintenance, a Maintenance Valley concept has been initiated by a number of leading companies and organizations. This concept will further stimulate innovation and developments in MRO in the near future.

Knowledge and training hub
Delft University of Technology's Faculty of Aerospace Engineering is acknowledged to be one of the best in the world. INHOLLAND University in Haarlem and the Hogeschool van Amsterdam offer high-quality aerospace engineering and aviation education. The National Aerospace Laboratory in Amsterdam and the Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) are also sources of specialist aerospace research and expertise.
